Engineering Services Department

DIRECTOR: SFISO KHOZA

DIRECTORATE OBJECTIVE:

The engineering services department is responsible to give support to Water Services and Technical Services Departments including Local Municipalities in the Infrastructure & Services Cluster in terms of the following:

1.  Clarify the scope of works to be added in the tender documents in respect of projects after liaison with relevant stake holders.

2.  Consider and approve technical reports and designs of Consulting Engineers.

3.  Consider and submit draft tender documents in respect of projects to Bid Specification Committee.

4.  Prepare tender notices in respect of projects and submit to Supply Chain Management unit.

5.  Consider and submit tender reports in respect of projects to Bid Evaluation Committee and Bid Adjudication Committee.

6.  Prepare technical designs and tender documents where there are no consulting engineers appointed.

7.  Update all as-built drawings in the District Municipality.

8.  Ensure that policies related to the implementation of projects are in place.

9.  Coordinates the shared services between District Municipality and local municipalities
