DIRECTORATE OBJECTIVE:

1. Provide legal advice, assistance and opinions to the administrative and political functionaries of the municipalities.

2. Attend to all legal proceedings for and or against the municipality.

3. Draft, vet or settle legal contracts between the municipality and other entities or organs of state.

4. Draft and settle bylaws.

5. Provide legal assistance to local municipalities within the district.

6. Ensure compliance with legal prescripts by the municipality.
